I John Orara, C.F.O of BTVfam, assume all responsibility for the following statements:
I don’t know what type of skew or spin many of you heard in the past, but the statements that I’m about to make are backed by empirical evidence and from the charity itself.
As you all know the Featured…
So I just read this via Christina Luna’s reblog of this post. All I have to say is that I feel used. I played at the first “Featured Acoustic Playlist” last year. I had tons of fun and was honored to be part of it especially the fact that I thought I was part of something bigger than MERE ENTERTAINMENT.
Look - yes, I want to do this for a living and I don’t always perform for charity events. But I despise the notion that I was part of a scam (even unknowingly and unintentionally). I can’t speak for the rest of the artists who participated last year. But all I can say is that I’m wanting to protect my name, what I stand for, and the purpose of what I do. I work hard for building up my career through the years and learning about this demoralizes me - if anything.
I just can’t believe people are so driven by temporary fame/excitement to the point of compromising integrity.
Moving on, I will be part of F.A.P. 2.0 in August. I’m happy that this is out in the open and what we can expect from here on out will be better compared to what happened last year.
See y’all there….
