Twas around 2006 or 07? when I first went to a show at The Hotel Cafe. I’ve always loved the vibe of the venue ever since then and what it represented - independent artists/singer/songwriters. It’s now this popular venue that “everybody” plays at and I’m just honored to have graced the stage a few times through the years. I’ve done a few showcases, sat-in for artist friends (i.e. Tony Lucca, Ernie Halter, etc.), and even did solo-sets back in 2007.
But this time…
I’m headlining… not because of a recent release, etc… just cause, I suppose. :)
It feels weird and awesome.
Thank you for sticking around and…
I hope to see you there! <3 <3 <3
love y’all…. -mp

Met up with Tim last Friday to do some writing. And did a video while we’re at it. <3 Enjoy.

This is what I worked on today - a lot of today, actually. So Matt Cusson’s harmony on this song isn’t on here yet. But you’ll hear my violin arrangement and playing! :) Not the final mix… not EVEN a mix.

Here’s a clip of the tune I just wrote….
“We Need, We Breathe, We All Bleed”
(polinar)
alone in a world
where fear reigns as so i’ve heard but
CHORUS:
we’re under the same sun
we’re under the same sky
we need, we breathe, we all bleed
we find that we’re searching
what makes sense of this yearning
we’re all the same
(and) who are we to blame?
we need, we breathe, we all bleed
Here’s the segment that was broadcasted on NBC SAN DIEGO. The show is called SoundDiego! :) It was on air last Saturday night and I’m so freakin’ honored and flattered. :) FUN! <3

Sorry for teasin’…
But here’s a glimpse of what I’ve been up to in The JB Cave past few days. :)

visited my former publishing headquarters today. had lunch with someone who still works there since when I was still under them (…i think about the only one left). it felt weird going in the building. it almost felt like the twilight zone or going back to your high school campus.
Had the chance to meet and talk to the current “head hanchos” of publishing there. Nice people.
…still. It felt weird being around the area and inside the building. ha.
On a lighter note: I got free CDs/music from them. I don’t know how my check-in suitcase can handle all the extra stuff I’m bringing as I go through each city.
g’nite.
